BORDERS questions if borders and isolation really help humanity or are rather an expression of fear and differentiation. Considering the fact that the Homo sapiens emerged as a sole species in Africa and spread across the entire globe from there, we need to state at least that we all have the same origin. Today many of us live like slaves of their smartphones in small, sealed off systems and know, in spite of the mass of accessible information, less and less about the world. But in the modern “high-tech” world in which everything is connected, problems can only be solved and steps forward can only be made when we break down boundaries. The best example is the fight against global warming which can only be successful through international cooperation. Part two (FRACTIONING) describes the block formation and isolation initiated by fear and excessive competitive thinking.
lyrics
You build your fences, raise your walls
Protect your borders against all
Once there were just open fields
You hide in shelters strong and tall
Look through windows much too small
To see the fields
All the open fields
Born of mistrust fed by fear
Left in darkness blurred and blear
Human freedom put in chains
Where are the memories bright and clear
Bring them back to have them here
As open fields
Open fields
You take your sharp knife, clench your fist
You hurt with words you will resist
Once we were just face to face
You use your bullets drop your bombs
You fight with fire use your guns
Afraid of all
So afraid of all
Frozen frames put in bald heads
By Trump's and Putin's message threads
Playing with fire constantly
Raise your voice don't look away
We're all humans on our way
Through open fields
Open fields
Break the silence finally
There is no right of privacy
For all those who have drawn these lines.
Overcome that silent wall
That's made of mistrust make it fall
It's only a seal-off sign
Just the brave ones speak out loud
What they think without a doubt
Words only can break these walls
Looking back to what we've lost
Won't change the future free of cost
It's all hard-won
If we will move on
We come from east we come from west
And what we share is one bequest
The same great hope in all these heads
We disbelieve in idle words
That speak of blessing and of curse
No need to try
We unveil the lie
All those memories in my head
Where do they come from
It seems to be so long ago
And all the pictures that they show
Don't belong to me
So all I see is like a trip back in time
A silent conversation with a mime
I feel green grass under my feet
And I see faces
Watching me so graciously
So I can walk across the lea
Without a single doubt
I feel a gentle draught
Takes me away
The fragile dream dissolves and I can't stay
